Wi-Fi-equipped light bulbs offer some very interesting applications (07-24-2013)

LIFX is a new energy efficient LED light bulb that is targeted to begin shipping in September 2013. Each bulb has the smarts to operate on its own and change its brightness and color while being controlled by an iPhone or Android app. This provides the basis for many commercial and residential applications, such as setting colors to offer the right ambiance and blinking lights in response to notifications, in addition to simply turning lights on and off automatically.
